Focus on e-Commerce Aims to Boost Efficiency and Convenience
SHANGHAI, China – September 10, 2013 – Grainger China, the country’s leading one-stop maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) solutions provider recently launched its e-Commerce platform (www.grainger.cn), becoming one of the first in China to establish a dedicated regional online hub for quality maintenance repair and operations (MRO) products. With a greater emphasis on e-Commerce, Grainger China offers convenience in China’s MRO market and will continue to help businesses in China save time and money.
As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to providing the best locally relevant MRO solutions and services, the new online platform offers over 100,000 products across a variety of categories such as lighting, office supplies and power tools. The leading one-stop MRO solutions provider is also aggressively expanding product lines by leveraging its global network, with 900,000 products from Grainger’s operations in the United States and plans to offer an additional three million products in the China market by September of this year through the company’s joint venture in Japan.

The one-stop online MRO supermarket operates on the principles of availability, convenience, dependability and quality customer service. By offering same day shipping, professional product information, transparent pricing and flexible payment options, Grainger China’s e-Commerce platform is an important channel to better meet China’s growing demands for quality MRO products when and where they are needed. In addition, Grainger China’s catalog that currently contains over 44,000 products, is expected to feature an expanded product range of up to 100,000 items when the new edition is launch in April of 2014.

Grainger recently announced record Q2 2013 results with sales of $2.2 billion USD, a 6% increase compared with last year. The company also reported record results for 2012 with sales of &9 billion USD, increasing 11% from 2011. China continues to be one of the key global markets that hold great significance for the company’s long-term growth. To date, Grainger China employs more than 600 employees across seven offices and three warehouses in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Tianjin. The company’s China headquarters also recently moved to downtown Shanghai.
